Donnerstag, 26. Juni 2008 link The "FreeRunner" arrives, probably just in time to grab some iPhone 3G users to-be: "OpenMoko has begun shipping [..] Neo FreeRunner phone to five newly announced distributors, in Germany, France, and India [..]. [The phone] features an open hardware design, and a Linux-based operating system that users are free to modify." OpenMoko's second phone, which is intended for the mass-market, seems to be finally shipping. Pulster, one German distributor, intends to offer it for EUR 299. While nicely equipped with a 480x640 2.8" display, ARM-based Samsung CPU, 2D/3D GPU, WiFi, GPS, 2 accelerometers and more, there's no 3G for the FreeRunner, though (but only GPRS, yuck). We'll see how that turns out. no comments |
