Peter Van Dijck: Themes and metaphors in the semantic web discussion - a review of the discussion that emerged around Clay Shirky's recent essay on the Semantic Web, entitled "The Semantic Web, Syllogism, and Worldview". Van Dijck categorizes the various responses under "recurring metaphors" he identified and quotes heavily. Well worth a read.

Ivan Herman, W3C Head of Offices: Introduction to the Semantic Web - and no, esa will not turn to completely focus on semantic web stuff :) but i'm currently experiencing what semantic web researchers mean when they say that their research is "interdisciplinary". some quite different things i'm currently looking at, lead me randomly into semweb stuff :)
