Carroll, Bizer, Hayes, Stickler: "Named Graphs, Provenance and Trust" - an updated and extended version of the draft mentioned here on 2004-03-25. Named graphs still sound like an extremely reasonable RDF extension to me. The authors present a well-balanced overview of named graphs and proceed to discuss necessary extensions to graph notation (TriX/TriG) and query languages (RDFQ, TriQL). An extensive discussion of provenance and trust concepts enabled by named graphs finishes the paper.
