[..] Git is quite different in this regard."Regarding Git's flexibility, this surely is one of the best write-ups I've come across so far. Darcs record is basically the same interface as git's add --patch (I guess that the latter was inspired by the former), so the basic point is just as valid for Darcs as well. Beyond that, Ryan Tomako's posting is an extremely useful intro to Git's most useful features.
