"[create Pyret] is a programming language designed to serve as an outstanding choice for programming education while exploring the confluence of scripting and functional programming".Built mainly by [create Daniel Patterson] and [create Joe Gibbs Politz] of the PLT group (headed by Shriram Krishnamurthi) at Brown University.
First glance: mixing a non-sexpr (somewhat Lua-esque) syntax with chiefly [create Racket]-inspired semantics, and dynamic typing with strongly integrated facilities for dynamic checking (testing) and efforts towards gradual typing. Very interesting and promising!
